Masi Masianco...one of my favorite white wines

Although I'm not a huge fan of white wine, Masi masianco is by far my favorite white wine on our wine list. This fresh Italian white blend  has a fruity aromatic style with hints of citrus on the nose from the Pinot Grigio as well as white flower and honey from the Verduzzo. You will experience flavors of lemon, apricot, peach and hints of honey on the palate and the wine has a medium body with a lingering finish. The wine is made in the Appissimento technique, which is Masi's specialty. The grapes are laid out on bamboo racks in drying lofts over the winter. Wine is then made by pouring the juices of fresh grapes over the semi dry grapes concentrating the aromas and tastes in the wine. It pairs well with grilled fish and white meats and it has a good acidity that allows it to cut through rich, creamy  sauces. I love pairing this wine with my favorite dish, the Salmon San Fransesco- baked salmon topped in a lemon and lime curry cream sauce.
